Head of Production


Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Head of Production to join KODE, starting in June or July. This is a full-time position working from within our Mitchell Street office near Old Street.

You will join our Production department and be responsible for overseeing all productions and management of the production team.

This is an opportunity to be part of an established, family-style company that creates work across multiple mediums including advertising, music, photography, short film, emerging technology and post production. 



The successful candidate should possess the following

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience working as an experienced Producer or Head of Production
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire the team 
  • Experience / knowledge of producing small and large scale productions
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and/or through difficult times
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and self motivation 
  • Strong working knowledge of bidding for commercial jobs
  • Good connections and networks in the industry
  • A sharp eye for detail and quality control
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organised and resourceful
  • Proficiency in Mac, G-Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office
  • Be social and outgoing

The Role will Entail

  • Responsible for oversight across all production and post production 
  • Manage and lead the production team alongside EPs 
  • Track job wraps to ensure that they are completed in a cost-effective and timely manner 
  • Oversee the bids and bidding process
  • Supporting the New Business team where needed (budget / client meetings)
  • Scheduling resource across productions
  • Handle legal / contracts, experience with usage licences etc 
  • Quoting, budgeting and ensuring they are followed by the wider team 
  • Handle any service production requests from our partners across the globe
  • Manage casting bids and buy-out extensions
  • Meet with producers, HODs, post houses and service companies
  • Advise freelance Producers on crew, camera house, edit houses, post houses etc
  • Act as main point of contact for all insurance matters and manage any production related claims
  • Manage the yearly insurance renewal process in a timely and efficient manner
  • Oversee the float, currency and petty cash request process
  • Ensure all relevant handbooks (i.e. Service, Freelance & Permanent employees) are introduced and kept up to date
  • Push pitches to be realistic in terms of output budget. Ensure key delivery milestones are met.
  • Exceptional process, legal, regulatory understanding of the industry at large and be clear about the ever shifting guidelines for safe and responsible production

Salary: £75-£85K
