Will Farrell is an English comedy writer and director with a sharp instinct for performance, character and the weirdly unexpected.
And yes, that’s Will Farrell — not Will Ferrell. The distinction has become something of a recurring theme. After meeting Will while working on SNL UK, Jimmy Fallon found the coincidence funny enough to revisit their encounter on The Tonight Show later that month. Not a bad amount of mileage from a single vowel.
Name confusion aside, Will has built an impressive comedy CV of his own, directing some of the funniest names working today, including Tim Key, Sam Campbell, Tina Fey, Jamie Demetriou and Jack Whitehall, alongside his work with the cast of SNL UK.
His work spans television, digital, live comedy and branded entertainment. He recently directed two shows at the Edinburgh Fringe with Rory Marshall and Ele McKenzie, and worked as 2nd Unit Director on Daisy May Cooper’s Am I Being Unreasonable?. He is also a regular director on SNL UK.
Will also co-created and directed Petrichor with Ben Rowse, a four-part comedy web series starring Alexander Owen, Lolly Adefope, Katy Wix and Al Roberts.
