Bio

Emily Freda Sharp

Emily Freda Sharp is a Director who creates playful work that doesn’t compromise on meaning.

Her initial years in advertising saw her put her name to the first social-led campaign to win a Cannes Lion; The United Nations’ People’s Seat with Sir David Attenborough. Meanwhile her darkly comic debut short film, Uh Oh, tackled the highs and woes of unethical tech, starring BAFTA winner Luke Rollason, Barbie's Ashley Young, and breakout comedian Horatio Gould. The satirically dystopian film had a major impact upon release, leading to the creation of the UK government’s AI Ethics Taskforce inside 10 Downing Street.

She has since gone on to Direct commercial performances from Rylan, Gemma Collins, Dani Dyer, The England Men's Squad, and Layton Williams, for clients including Tesco, Surf, Wrigley's, Eurovision, and the BBC. Her style often focuses on colourful, camp comedy, with a satirical edge and a strong sense of world building - whether it's brand identities, liminal realms, or a healthy dose of both.

With a sentimentality for childhood, she often jokes that if she’s not making a Spice Girls reference then she’s not doing her job properly!
