Bio

Daniel Broadley

Daniel is a Writer/Director (and occasionally a DOP) with a furious addiction to caffeine, from the South West of England. Over the last ten years, he’s been living two lives, one as a filmmaker and the other as a musician (his band have currently amassed over 100 million streams on Spotify). He’s passionate about music and the films that accompany it, he has a massive amount of empathy for music artists that comes from being one himself. It’s something he channels into all his films, making the set a safe and inspiring place for artists and talent to be.

Not long after graduating from Arts University Plymouth with a First Class B.A Honours in Film, Dan was Cinematographer on Cosmo Jarvis’ (Peaky Blinders, Calm With Horses, Lady Macbeth) directorial debut feature ‘The Naughty Room’ which premiered on BBC Four. Shortly after he moved into short form, shooting and directing music videos for friends before becoming KODE’s first director signing.

Since joining KODE’s roster Dan has directed for clients and artists such as Nick Jonas, Sir Tom Jones, HP, Asics, BBC, Fender, travelled the world making commercial films for TUI, as well as directing over 50 live sessions for VEVO. In 2020 Dan received his first UKMVA nomination for his lockdown-inspired music video featuring Florence Pugh and has now begun writing his first feature-length script.

In his free time, Dan likes to surf, ride bikes and sleep (a lot!).
